Mainspring’s leadership team has a balance of industry, operations and administration expertise.
Chief Executive Officer
Stephen founded Mainspring in 2010, having spent 8 years at Pi Capital as an investment manager then as COO. Prior to that, he was part of the investment team at Eden Capital, strategy analyst at the BBC, and was in corporate finance at Hambros Bank.
Bridget became the chair of Mainspring in January 2020. Bridget spent over 35 years with Macfarlanes, one of the leading City law firms, where she was head of the Investment Management Group. She focused on advising both managers and investors on private equity and other alternative fund structures as well as financial services regulation.
Beth has had 20 years as a regulatory specialist in asset management across traditional and alternative asset classes. Her regulatory career began at IMRO and then progressed as a compliance officer at Kleinwort Benson Private Bank and as compliance officer and MLRO at Lazard Asset Management in London. More recently, she has worked in consulting roles with wealth and asset managers offering hedge funds, AIFs, UCITS and discretionary mandates focusing on their corporate governance, compliance and financial crime arrangements.
Senior Fund Accountant
Oliver is an ACA qualified accountant and is responsible for client service and fund reporting for our private equity clients.
Head of Investment Operations
Chris leads the Custody and Nominee team and is responsible for its day-to-day custody and nominee operations provided to Mainspring’s client. He has previously led back and middle office supporting teams trading a diverse range of assets including derivatives, equities, OEIC funds, bonds and emerging markets. A Greenbelt Six Sigma champion Chris has also attained CISI qualifications for Share Plans and Investment Operations.
Sales Director – Custody
Paul is responsible for sales for EIS / SEIS / BR / BIR / SITR and complex managed account structures and custodian & administration services. He is highly experienced on these schemes and supports clients when they launch a new fund. Paul has over 20 years’ experience in financial services and prior to working for Mainspring was at The Share Centre, RBS, Durlacher and stockbroker Redmayne Bentley, having started as an officer in the Royal Air Force.
