Customer Insight: DH Private Equity Partners (DH), known as Doughty Hanson prior to rebranding, invested €7 billion over 60 companies through several funds with multi-jurisdictional fund structures. The Firm was focused on mid-market European private equity and has been acknowledged as a pioneer in the area of active ownership and value enhancement.
Following a successful period of portfolio management and strong realisations across the funds, DH announced in November 2018 its decision to wind down the Firm and realise its remaining investments. In July 2020 Mainspring Fund Services was appointed by DH as fund administrator for the run-off of all seven remaining funds and affiliated entities.
Julie Bradshaw, DH General Counsel & Compliance Officer, commented “Mainspring were the clear choice as independent fund administrator, they structured a tailored service based on their ability to understand our unique requirements. We had confidence in entrusting this to Mainspring based on the strength of their referrals from clients that similarly relied on Mainspring for complex fund administration.”
Damian Simmons, Chief Service Officer at Mainspring, commented “we are delighted to be working with DH, one of the UK’s most successful Private Equity managers, to support them with the run-off of all their funds The funds with many affiliate entities are structured across several domiciles and clearly demonstrates Mainspring’s capability for administering fund complexity”.
